The Liebster Award

Oh, the Liebster Award. I remember doing this on my last blog. It feels like it was a million years ago, so I had a lot of fun fulling this out. But, like, super weird: the rules are different? The origins of this nomination (because no one ever wins) are super vague, so I'm not surprised there't multiple sets of rules fluttering around. Still weird though. I remember one of the rules the last time I did this was it had to be a small blogger or someone who had been blogging less than a year. That isn't indicated in this set of rules, but I lowkey stuck to that. I went through #TeacupClub and picked a few nice looking folks and chose them for this little doozey. Thanks you Pandora Pip for choosing me! xoxo

 My Answers

If you had to describe yourself as a color what would you choose and why?
PINK. I think I’m generally soft, kind, and feminine, and these are all attributes that can be associated with pink. Ya know, peonies, tulle skirts, lipsticks, blushes.  On the flip side, though, I can also be persistent, irritating, and obnoxious, like a raised, pink rash on your skin that you’re trying to ignore but you can’t.

Do you use blog props and if so, what is your favorite?
I wish. Like, I’m trying to be better about photography and photos. I want to buy props, but I have nowhere for them. I live with my parents still, so my stuff is confined to my room, save a few pieces. Keeping my space organized is a task as it is without adding in random bits I want for one photo. It’s something I want to work on.

What drink do you find most comforting?
I always associate lemonade with comfort. I’m so anxious about being productive and growing myself, so I feel like if I have lemonade, I’m actually relaxing – not “relaxing” where I’m just stressfully scrolling through social media thinking about all the stuff I could do. Lemonade is refreshing af too. I mean, a nice mason jar of lemonade with strawberries in it on a perfectly warm day – mmm.

If you could freeze time for 24 hours what would you do?
This is lame af, but I’d probably clean? Like, I’d get all the cleaning I’d want done. I know that wouldn’t take 24 hours, so with the extra hours, I would snuggle up with a poetry collection and enjoy the frozen time with myself.

What is your best memory?
There’s no particular memory that is coming to mind. I mean, I totally have good memories and memories that are special and shaped who I am, but I wouldn’t categorize any one of them as my best.

How did you get into blogging?
I was thinking about creating a website for my poetry, and one of my professors wrote one of my assignments that I should maybe get into blogging. I’d had little blogs when I was a teenager, and I’d always really liked it. I decided to just go for it!

What is your biggest fear?
Being forgotten. I’m afraid of living a long, full life, dying, and then it being like I never existed. I don’t know anything about my great, great grandparents. It scares me to think not long after I die it’ll be like I was never alive.

What would be your idea of a nightmare holiday?
Oh boy. Not having the right attire for the climate would be awful. Ah. And being with someone who’s not having a good time would kill my vibe.

How would you define spirituality?
I would define it as how you connect with your soul. If you connect with your soul through god, meditation, stones, or vibes, that’s spirituality. There’s no right or wrong way to be spiritual.

What do you love most about blogging?
All the people I’ve become friends with. I’ve chatted with a number of wonderful people in the community, but the people I’ve actually engaged with and talked to beyond a superficial level are wonderful. That’s my generic love. My personal love, honestly, has to be sharing my writing and opinions and seeing the reception people have to it. Sharing my writing was always an anxiety I had, so it’s amazing to share it and see people enjoy it so much.

Do you practice self-care? If so, share some of your best techniques!
I do, but I’m not too great at it. If I’m really treating myself, I’ll buy myself flowers or track down a chocolate lava cake. I’m obsessed with baths too! Oh my godddd. Baths are a godsend.
