March, 2017 // Teacup of the Month: Jessica

First things first: oh my goooood. Jessica is super hot, and I get to talk about her like that because she's my mom. Phew, okay, with the acknowledgement of how gorgeous she is aside, say hello to March's Teacup of the Month, Jessica! Woooo!

006: For You

I never loved you,
But with flowers, I tried.
Pulling from gardens
I grew for you,
Every flower [blooming]
For you. I slink through
Scents to bottle for you,
Picking petals
From each one for you.
Three, seven, thirteen,
I start counting to see
If there are the same number of
petals on each flower for you.
Mind daisied for you. I say
I hate you, I love you, I hate you.
I always loved you,
Do you love me?
I break it into pieces
I put in the flowers –
For you.

The 21-Year-Old Virgin: My Thoughts on Being a Virgin in My Twenties

"Take off all your clothes and
Baby, let me blow your mind"
Stroke God, Millionaire, Dance Gavin Dance

The birds and the bees. Bumpin' uglies. Goin' all the way. Doin' the deed. Gettin' lucky. Makin' love.

I, uh, can't tell you what that particular sensation is like, my friends. I mean, I hear it's quite lovely and many people have an enthusiastic outlook on the activity. I hear I'm missing out and god, I need to get laid already. I also hear it's only okay and I need to hold onto my virginity for dear life. Talk about mixed reviews, am I right?

Floral Days: My Spring Bucket List

"I'm wide awake, so what's the point of dreaming when your life is great?
Celebrate the feeling, celebrate the feeling"
Be Okay, Oh Honey

Why hello, spring! Yes, yes, the glorious spring equinox has arrived, so turn up for pretty flower days ahead. Days full of picnics, bright colors, and all things floral are now in our midst. The first day of spring has been full of rain for me, but I'm not going to let it get me down. The rainy days will pass, and I'll have days full of pleasant bits of sun flitting through the air. Spring is such a pretty time of year. The flowers bloom and green returning to the trees sparks up a little flair for adventure and achievement. Since I'm rather jazzed about the season, here's my bucket list of things I want to do!

When the New Girl is Better Than You

You're in pole class. You're all jazzed up because heck yeah you're in the studio about to make some sexy magic with that body. Mmm, baby. You have everything you need for class and you're determined to work on that trick/spin/cool thing that has been eluding you. Ya know, another day of working hard to achieve your goals because you're on a noble quest to be an athletic sex goddess. The ush. And oh hey! A new girl is in class today. She's fun, she's cool, and she's... doing that thing you're struggling to do?

A Spring Fashion Wishlist 2017

Spring is officially one week away, and I'm bursting! Like, dude, you don't even know. We were basically drowning here in California for all of February, so I'm begging for spring. We've been getting some beautiful sunshine the last two weeks, luckily. I've been able to shimmy my way into a few dresses and flirt with some sandals! I love the fashion of spring time because I'm totally a dress and skirt type of gal. Since I'm so jazzed about it, here's a little wishlist of a few bits I'd love to have for the season.

Konjac Sponge Co. Bamboo Charcoal Facial Sponge

Bruuuh this sponge though. Just... mmm. Before I get into the sponge, a lil context feels necessary. When it comes to makeup and beauty goods, I prefer to use cruelty-free brands. I'm not going to argue with anyone about it - that's where I stand. Solid? Solid. In my search for cruelty-free brands, I discovered Petit Vour, a monthly cruelty-free subscription box. I found it reasonably priced and thought it would give me exposure to a bunch of different brands, so I went for it. I've used it for the last year or so, and I'm so happy I did because now I get wonderful products like this facial sponge from Konjac Sponge Co.

005: Tantrum

Freckles are embers
singed by bleeding indigo flames
from mouth unkind.
Charcoal falls, ash rains,
fist collides with the wall.
It burns from my knuckles.
It’s burning. Everything is burning.
I am burning.
Dense black and purple smoke
fills lungs, it tastes
bitter on the tongue.
A flash in my eyes,
I scream unkind with
bleeding indigo flames.

What I'm Saying With My Underwear

So underwear! Let's talk about it. I can't count the times I've had conversations with my friends about how good we feel when we sport cute underwear. Like, cute underwear can make a whatever day into a good day. And I mean, no one is seeing it, so it might not make sense why it's such a big deal, but it is. It's entirely psychologically, and it's something kinda special for just you (and, well, potential partners). I figure with how much time I've spent on Twitter the past month talking about cute underwear, I'm, like, obligated to write a post about how different styles make me feel. Sorry not sorry.

The Love I Need According to the Five Love Languages

"Tell me that I am the love of your life,
I'll be in character, batting my eyes."
Here Comes the Winner, Dance Gavin Dance

We've all heard of The Five Love Languages, right? I worked at a popular book selling chain, and let me tell you, I was ringing this book up on the regular. Everyone seemed to need it. I thought it seemed interesting, maybe one of those things I'd pick up eventually, but I hadn't thought too much about it. The people who bought were normally women, but most of the positive things I've heard about it have been from men... on Reddit. Not the place I would have expected to hear high praises of this kind of book. With everyone seeming to think it's the game changer in their relationships and dating life, I figure there has to be something to it, right?

March, 2017 // Blogging Goals

Bruh, like, I know it's only a few days shorter, but was February even real!? I mean, really? I feel like I accomplished nothing in the whole month. Obvi I did have some accomplishments, but I didn't go hard on my goals like I had wanted. I started the month sick, had such a total boohoo-y period, hurt my arm last week, and it's been pouring cats and dogs all month. This last month has been impossible, and it really messed me up on my February Goals. Excuses, excuses, ya know? Now that I've had a little experience with blog goal setting under my belt, I think I can do better with my March goals, though.
