What Makes You Happy: Discovering Happiness in Three Categories

Love the look? Check it out here.

Geez. Ain't that the question? Happiness and how I find it in my life have been at the forefront of my mind since I graduated college. Like, my life isn't determined by some formula anymore. There's no clear cut next step. I could travel, get a job, move across the country, who knows! I mean, everything is possible. My life is what I make it now, so I've been asking myself how do I live a life that makes me happy?

I do this thing called Feeling Myself Friday, which you may know about if you follow me on Twitter. Feeling Myself Friday is essentially my day of the week where I focus on self-care. As I pondered my happiness and place in the universe one Friday, I pulled out a sheet of paper and honestly confronted myself about it.

What makes me happy?

I could have made a myriad of lists covering each niche detail of my life, but I found myself - in a broad sense - finding my life could be simplified into three categories: body, mind, and lifestyle.

I found that the truth of what made me happy came through clearly when I thought of my happiness in a more specific (yet still broad) way than a big what makes you happy?

Since I've made my list, I've been trying to look at how I live and how much my life is matching up with what's on it. How often am I doing these things I know make me happy?

I thought I'd go ahead and provide some guiding questions for anyone interested in doing this exercise themselves!
